Ever since we made a geodesic dome from scratch out of 1-inch PVC, I’ve been thinking about how to cast 4-, 5-, and 6-pointed joints for the intersections instead of building them by hand (which was the most troublesome part of theprocess). The problem is that I’ve had no real idea about how to do this. Today I stumbled across Alumilite’s website. After seeing all of the applications for it and reading their very helpful how to section, I”m practically convinced that this is the right solution. Now my biggest concern is making an original that’s actually castable. I’m hoping that I can get some help from their forum. If this works out, it could be very interesting.
