Twisty Passages · 28 September 09

You’re lost in a maze of twisty passages, all alike. Escape in this unusual card-and-dice game for two to four bewildered explorers.

Twisty Passages

by Jonathan A. Leistiko

Story

You, and at least one other person like you, have been dumped into a maze of twisty passages. The first person to find the exit is the only one who will be allowed to leave. The maze may be filled with interesting things to see, but you don’t want to make it your home.

Goal

As you explore the maze, you’ll accumulate cards. These cards represent your progress toward the maze’s exit. The first person to accumulate a set number of cards is the first to the exit and wins the game.

Rules, Pieces, etc.

The rules and cards for Twisty Passages are all bound up in one 627 KB file. Since the file includes the rules we’re not posting the rules on this web page.

Enjoy!

  2. Congrats again, Jonathan, on Dr. Necreux. That is just too exciting! How wide is the distribution?

  3. Here I am again. This game just take my attention and i have it in the printer queue.

I was translating the cards and the rules to Spanish (please, if you want them, write me a mail and I’ll be glad os sending it back).
Anyway, while I was translating I saw something strange. In the “Variants” section of the rules, I belive you missplace the rule of forcing the discard of a black zone card between “Exit Strategy” and “Through The Black”. I mean, I believe that rule fit better in “Through The Black”.

Besides, without having playin any game… It isn’t an always win movementent declare a very high speed when you are at one or two cards from winning?

  4. Donald: You should have brought a ball of twine with you. At least you have access to the Internet.

Aaron: I believe Doctor Necreaux is getting national hobby store exposure. You should be able to order it from any Friendly Local Game Store.

Almostel: When your Spanish translation is done, I would like to link to it or provide it along with the English version.

You can change the variants around in the Spanish version if you want to. I’m going to keep the English version as-is.

Declaring a very high speed is not a guaranteed win when you are close to winning because some cards can make you discard a lot of cards or force you to end your turn.
